Speaker Highlight: Dave Smith
David is an experienced leader, coach and consultant, with over 30 years in business. He has worked as a corporate executive, mainly in corporate banking and wealth management and now as a business owner. He has lots of experience in ‘greenfield’ business launches and change processes to align with new visions and strategies. He’s also been active in new product development and training projects ranging from insurance products and delivery channels, to credit card products, to the Interac Direct Payment Service launch in Canada. He has participated in a family operated franchise restaurant, financed many entrepreneurs as a corporate lender, was on the founding team of two successful financial institutional launches and founded his own consulting enterprise which he co-leads with his wife.
In 2009, David and his wife Nancy created Logia Consulting Inc., a leadership consulting company, serving clients in human capital consulting, coaching and training. Logia works a team of expert associates to serve clients in a range of sizes in various industries and forms; private companies, family-enterprises, manufacturing, professional services, financial services, communications, government & crown organizations, health care, construction, education, law enforcement, non-profits and more.
David is a Certified Management Consultant and accredited coach/trainer in multiple systems including the International Coaching Federation. He has a Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and has studied leadership at Harvard Business School, Banff Centre for Management, University of Colorado; Boulder, The Pacific Institute and adult education through St. Francis Xavier University. He is an experienced speaker and facilitator having spoken at a number of national and international conferences and countless in-house client workshops.
Although he has spent a great deal of time on the financial capital side of the business world, his true passion has always been on building visions and plans that nurture value(s), cultures and character, the ‘people side’ of the business. He believes that people want to contribute, learn and grow to become the best version of themselves. He takes special joy in being with his wife, four children and grandchildren as they grow in the world, active at almost everything under the sun.
