Extraordinary women deserve to be celebrated! WESK is giving female business leaders in our province the recognition they deserve by presenting five outstanding female entrepreneurs with one of WESK’s 2019 Celebration of Achievement & Entrepreneur Awards, presented by Conexus Credit Union.
Since inception, WESK’s Celebration of Achievement award has paid tribute to an exceptional woman entrepreneur who has built a business in Saskatchewan with a significant impact on the economy and the community. This entrepreneur is an inspirational leader and a role model for women in business.
In 2018, we expanded and redesigned our awards program to be able to recognize more amazing female entrepreneurs in our province. This year, we are excited to be offering the following categories: WESK Community Involvement Award, WESK Growth & Expansion Award, WESK Innovation Award and WESK Indigenous Entrepreneurship Award.
This is the only event of its kind in Saskatchewan that brings together female entrepreneurs with representatives from government, industry, media, and educational institutions to celebrate the outstanding contributions of inspiring female entrepreneurs.
Community Involvement Award is presented to an entrepreneurs that has been a leader in creating ways of conducting business that has a positive impact on the community. This individual has shown evidence of clearly expressed and widely communicated strategy, focusing on actions which demonstrate a responsibility to enhance the social and natural environments in which they operate. These entrepreneurs truly look out for the triple bottom line – people, profits, plant.
Growth & Expansion Award is presented to a Saskatchewan entrepreneur that has successfully developed an implemented a strategy that has resulted in rapid growth and increased profitability and shows the potential for further growth and success.
Innovation Award is presented to a Saskatchewan entrepreneur that is pushing conventional boundaries and is disrupting and reshaping their industry through groundbreaking achievements in bringing innovation to market. The application can be based on the development of a specific product or service or on the repositioning of the organization and is not limited solely to innovations of technological nature.
Indigenous Entrepreneurship Award is presented to a leading Indigenous business, which through a strong business concept shows plans for future growth and viability over the long term. Additionally, this business demonstrates a strong understanding of their market and competitors and has a long-term commitment to the community.
