Domi inks – Tattoo Artist

Dominika Janowczyk, originally from a small city in Poland, is an alumna from The University of Regina. During her time in Regina, Saskatchewan she played on the women’s volleyball team for the Regina Cougars and obtained her master’s degree in Process Systems Engineering. Dominika first earned her bachelor’s degree in the Technical Physics with a major in Eco-Technology from the Pomeranian University in Slupsk, Poland. Following her convocation at The University of Regina, she immediately began working in her field in 2017 as an engineer in training, with a focus on carbon capture and sequestration technologies development. In 2019, Dominika was one of 50 youth leaders from all around the world participating in the Youth Leaders Forum for the 2019 Clean Energy Ministerial 10/Mission Innovation 4. Tattoo artist known as Domi_inks. Though I have two very diverse jobs, they keep me fulfilled. I’ve learned you can achieve a lot in a couple of years if you work hard. Be patient and kind to yourself and work hard to get what you want. Don’t be afraid to open up. Don’t be ashamed to reach out, as there is strength in numbers as long we are there for each other. At the end of the day, you are never alone. And don’t listen to others: “you have an engineering degree, focus on that”, “you are a female, the tattoo industry isn’t for you”. Do what makes you happy, break the stereotypes, and fight for what you want. Your life is limitless.
