About the Business
At Miyosiwin Salon Spa we are about more than just a set of hair services. We can be your one stop shop for beauty and spa services. Miyosiwin meaning “Beauty” in the Cree language was founded by Jennifer Dubois who is from George Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan. Miyosiwin Salon Spa offers top quality professional services from hair cutting, blowouts, updos, hair colors inspired by modern day fashion trends to body wraps, facials, skin care and much more! Miyosiwin Salon Spa is very involved in the Indigenous community and we make an effort to be aware of cultural practices and traditions. We extend this courtesy to all Miyosiwin Salon Spa clients Indigenous and non-indigenous.
Jennifer Dubois
Jennifer Dubois is the owner and lead stylist of Miyosiwin Salon Spa. She has been a Journeyperson Hairstylist for over 16 years and earned a B.Admin from the First Nations University of Canada in 2015, with a major in Marketing. As well, in 2012, she received her Certificate in Indian Communication Arts. In 2012, Dubois pitched her business idea to the Aboriginal CBC BoomBox Competition and placed second. Five years later, she was able to see her pitch come to fruition as she opened her own commercial business in 2017. Dubois is a recent recipient of the National 2020 Futurpreneur Grit Award and a current nominee for the 2020 Paragon Community Involvement Award. In 2017, she was named one of CBC Saskatchewan’s Future 40 under 40.
