About the Business
The Optical Shoppe first opened its doors in 1983, introducing Regina to fashion forward eyewear. Founder Thelma Bannatyne had a fierce passion for fashion, and she believed eyewear was the ultimate accessory. Thelma traveled to New York, Las Vegas and even Milan to find the best frames to bring to you. She met with designers from all around the world to ensure the latest and greatest frames were in her store. Today, we continue that tradition, by searching for the best frames and continually improving our customer service and enchaining your in store experience.
The Optical Shoppe prides themselves in finding the best eyewear from around the world and they are ready to WOW you with an experience that blends the expertise you need, with the fashion you crave.
Lisa grew up in a family owned business. Sunday dinners, holidays and after school we were talking about business and grew to love it! So, when the opportunity came to own The Optical Shoppe she jumped in with both feet! It is the perfect marriage of her love for fashion, business and professional expertise. Lisa grew up in Regina spending most of her time in curling rinks, sports arenas and virtually at any venue that was hosting an event or fundraiser. The McIntyre family seemed to volunteer for everything! Now Lisa spends her time giving back by sitting on the board of The Globe Theatre, Regina Downtown Business Improvement District and the Regina YWCA Capital Campaign. When events return Lisa will also be a part of the Grey Cup leadership team. Lisa attended the University of Regina, completing a Bachelor of Business in 2012, and a Masters in Leadership in 2018. Currently Lisa is virtually attending NAIT to become a Licensed Optician.
