About the Business
Colleen founded The Practice in January of 2018 as a single practitioner. With a Master’s Degree in Social Work she longed to create an ethical-evidence-informed private practice. A place where people could receive therapy through a psychosocial lens while feeling seen, heard and understood. In January of 2022 The Practice evolved, becoming home to other Registered Social Workers. Colleen is proud to work alongside these social workers. As a team we specialize in the psychosocial aspects of relationships, women’s health, and the resolution of trauma. Colleen takes seriously her growing responsibilities as a therapist and business owner within the Social Work profession. The Practice remains dedicated to providing ethical-evidenced-informed psychosocial care; leadership in professional lifestyles that demonstrates personal, professional and social sustainability as well as contributing to the growth of our profession and this community. At The Practice we remain committed to actively engaging in Truth & Reconciliation by discovering and addressing our personal biases while learning and unlearning in order to challenge both internal and external oppression. All services are based on 3rd and 4th wave feminist values and principles. And our greatest value is relationship.
