About
Karla Combres is a seasoned legacy who helps people discover, live into and honour their ideal life legacy. She does those through workshops, speaking engagements, 1:1 guidance and custom ceremonies. Over the past decade, she's helped hundreds of individuals, families, couples and organizations slow down and uncover their essential values and stories in order to live and die meaningfully. Karla's first forays into legacy work and celebrancy began, perhaps surprisingly, with endings. She started as a Death Café host and hospice volunteer. She went on to become a hospice trainer, home funeral practicum graduate, Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant (through the Celebrant Foundation & Institute), as well as co-founder and co-director of the Saskatoon Threshold Singers, which offers comforting bedside a cappella singing for the seriously ill and dying. Karla has over two decades of experience in organizing, researching, writing, and collaborating in public and private sectors, in Canada and abroad. She holds a Master of Science in Sociology, a Bachelor of Commerce, and has certifications as a Life-Cycle Celebrant, Guided Autobiography Instructor and Holding Space Consultant.
