About the Business
Canham Conservation is an art conservation studio, specializing in the preservation and restoration of works of art on paper, photographs, and books. This includes expert conservation treatments, condition assessments, and the development of preservation strategies for individuals, museums, archives, and libraries. With a commitment to ethical practice and sustainability, Canham Conservation also offers public education, workshops, and outreach focused on the care of cultural heritage.
Robin Canham
Robin is a graduate of the Master of Art Conservation program at Queen’s University and specializes in the conservation of paper-based collections and books. She also holds a Master of Information Studies (Library Studies) from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts (English) from the University of Regina.
Robin has worked at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, MacKenzie Art Gallery, Provincial Archives of Alberta, Queen’s University Archives, and she was a Kress Fellow in Conservation at the Queen’s University Library, W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections. Previous to her career in conservation, she worked as an academic librarian for over a decade.
Passionate about education and sharing her knowledge, Robin teaches a course in art conservation at the University of Regina and is dedicated to making conservation accessible through workshops and outreach.
