About the Business
Wise River Acres is a small start-up cut flower farm serving NE Saskatchewan. Located in the RM of Torch River (488) on a century farm the cut flower business is reimagining the family farm origin.
The farm has recently become available to me, 4th generation, to hold its custom. As the first female to retain the farm I have a bit different perspective and approach to keeping the farming heritage intact. The farming theme will continue with a cut-flower farm not only traditional grain farming.
Currently we are growing a wide assortment of local zone 3 tolerant flowers. Bouquets of locally grown flowers are available for sale during the growing season May – October at the roadside flower stand and at select vendors and markets.
Bouquets are also available for key holidays and events like Valentine’s, Mother’s Day etc.
DIY and full-service florals are available for weddings and special events.

I was a town kid that spent an inordinate amount of time on the farm with my grandmother. As such the farm has a special place in my heart.
So, now I’m the town kid, turned city kid and corporate professional who is coming back to the farm roots.
I had this idea awhile ago but wasn’t sure it was something that I could actually translate. I could never keep house plants alive. But. Three years ago I decided I’d try and grow some flowers in the garden, thinking, it’s nature they know what to do. Well, it worked! Of course it’s not that simple so it’s been a learning curve but, it’s come to small fruition. The flowers survive and thrive and have been making beautiful bouquets.
So, now I’m a flower farmer! 🙂
