The number one starting point for any business small or large should be a business plan.

This beginner’s workshop will show you how to build the perfect business plan, and teach you the need-to-knows of market research, marketing, financials, and more. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur with a specific business idea, or if you have been operating your business for a few years but have not yet written a business plan, this workshop is for you!

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

Identify the components of a good business plan that will help you move forward with confidence
Use the tools available to conduct informative market research
Explain why a business plan is important

Amanda Parkinson, Business Advisor, WESK

Amanda joined the WESK team as a Business Advisor in August 2020. She brings a variety of work experience spanning 10 years in the public, municipal, human services, marketing and human resources sectors. As a Business Advisor, she will use her facilitation and strong research skills to empower entrepreneurs in all stages of their journey. Amanda’s passion is helping others by identifying their challenges and opportunities and creating action plans to make meaningful and impactful progress.

Amanda enjoys traveling, music and collecting tattoos from all over the globe. As a self proclaimed “foodie” you can find her at any new restaurant or spending time with her 11-year-old Chihuahua, Ronnie.

Heather Blouin, Regional Manager South, WESK

As the regional manager for Saskatchewan’s southern region, Heather is proud to support women entrepreneurs achieve success through providing business advising and WESK programming. Heather leads and supports WESK’s team of business advisors in the southern region and is also involved in program development. She joined the WESK team in 2020 and looks forward to being a part of Saskatchewan’s amazing network of women entrepreneurs.

Heather’s background includes municipal government, private, public, non-profit and self-employment experience. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina, achieved her Master of Arts in Tourism Management from Royal Roads University iand recently completed her Certificate of Adult Education from the Canadian College of Educators.

Heather lives in Regina with her two dogs. She enjoys spending time outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, snowboarding and curling up in her hammock with a good book. Heather is an avid traveler, enjoys trying new local restaurants, and can be found knitting blankets and socks during the winter.
