Apply for the Women-Owned Business Database

Verified. Visible. Valued.

If your business is majority woman-owned, or you’re a proud supporter of women in business, we invite you to be part of Saskatchewan’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Why Apply & Verify

This database is your visibility tool, a credibility booster, and a connection point.  By verifying your business, you make it easier for people across Saskatchewan, Canada, and beyond to find and work with women-owned businesses like yours. This database allows folks from across the country and beyond to find Saskatchewan-based, women-owned businesses to collaborate with. More and more corporations are looking to diversify their supply chain with verified, equity-deserving businesses, which is why WESK has launched the ability to verify.

When you qualify as a verified woman-owned business, you’ll receive:

  • An official Saskatchewan Woman-Owned Business digital badge,
  • A custom social media template & media kit,
  • An opportunity to appear in the verified section of the public database (must complete free verification process and be approved),
  • Recognition opportunities across WESK platforms.

Not eligible for verification? You can still make an impact! Visit our Supporter of Women-owned Businesses page to learn how you can champion women entrepreneurs.

Eligibility

Whether you’re majority women-owned or there is women representation in ownership, we invite you to apply for the Women-owned Business Database. Please review the eligibility criteria below prior to applying.

Thanks to funding support, verification is currently free for majority women-owned businesses and open to all that meet the criteria outlined below:

  • Be based in Saskatchewan,
  • Be 51% or more woman-owned,
  • Have women owners making the majority of operational decisions,
  • Be a registered business in Saskatchewan.

Verification has added benefits that unverified women-owned businesses may not receive, including potential procurement opportunities.

If your business doesn’t meet the exact structure of the verified eligibility, you can still apply as to be a listed women-owned business. Minimum requirements to be listed on the Women-owned Business Database are as follows:

  • Be based in Saskatchewan,
  • Have women representation in ownership,
  • Have women owners or leaders making the majority of operational decisions,
  • Be a registered business in Saskatchewan.

Background & Purpose

This initiative is rooted in the Enabling Scale in Saskatchewan report, developed by the Saskatchewan Advisory Committee on the Gender Entrepreneurship Gap. One key recommendation was to develop tools that support visibility and access to opportunity for women entrepreneurs across the province.

By participating in this initiative – whether as a woman-owned business or a supporter – you’re helping grow an inclusive, resilient, and more representative economy.
